Bio-
Astromonkey.com is my personal portfolio web site. With this site I hope to find a job in some digital graphic endeavor. I've been doing 3D for about 5 years now officially although I've been tinkering around with 3D software (3d Max, Bryce, Poser, Vellum, Rhino) for about 10. I've always had an interest in effects for television, film, and games. Everything from scrolling text to digital dinosaurs.
I started my education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in the Industrial Design Program. There I learned the importance of sketching and problem solving as well as a bit of study into what makes something look interesting. I found my role as the go-to guy for photoshop and illustrator answers when presentation time came around. It was also here that I got my first taste of photography and woodworking.
After earning a BA in design at SIUC I moved out to California to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. This is where I really learned to love 3D, sculpture and drawing. The professors at that school had lots of experience in the industries that they taught in and the information they gave about the day to day life as a professional was invaluable. The school emphasized working in groups and using the resources found in others to complete the given task. After 3 years I earned a BFA from the Academy.
I now live back in the Chicago area and am currently seeking a job. If you have any questions about my abilities, they can be answered by email messiha.mark@gmail.com or perhaps by looking through the rest of the site.
Thanks,
Mark Messiha
